Guest -- you're totally wrong there. As a matter of fact, I was over in Whitby only a few weeks ago, and was observing the new restrictions (which came in stages between January and the spring) at first hand (after having consulted various websites and made enquiries of several "authorities" beforehand). The various maps on the Internet are of differing configurations, and some information sources contradict each other. And as for the new "scratchcard" scheme, well that would put Kafka to shame.
Re Folk Week itself, I last visited Folk Week for a day trip only, the year before last and the year before.
I was always happy to dart about between venues, until the year when I got stranded on the "wrong" side of the swing bridge when it failed... and in the years since then it's been more difficult due to decreasing mobility. We're none of us getting any younger, so don't knock advancing age, it'll happen to you too one day!
