I was responding to earlier comments about the P & R.

I usually spend 2-3 days at Whitby but I live reasonably near so I travel daily.

I've not yet tried the Whitby P & R so I don't know how effective it is but it's long been needed. Last time I went to Whitby was for the quilt show. My wife has a blue badge and we got into disabled space down by the Spa no problems which has not been the case in the past. We've usually dropped her by the Spa then I've taken the car to find somewhere to park.

Whitby (the town) is heaving at this time of year regardless of FW. Prices in pubs, cafés etc are the same during FW as any other time. At least I've not noticed any difference. The folk week is based in a popular holiday town with all that brings.
