My first long-distance ride in the UK was on the road from Chateau Bill Sables to Whitby in August 2002. I think Noreen was in the back seat, and I forget the name of the guy who was driving (was it Alan?). I kept trying to operate the controls, since I was sitting in the front seat on the left side, where the driver of a U.S. car is supposed to sit. The traffic was horrendous, but it was wonderful to go through all that heather. It was the first time I had ever seen heather in blossom. It's a ride I won't forget.

Mouldy's husband Ian gave me a nice tour of North York Moor on the way back from Whitby; and then I had a nice afternoon with Mouldy and her family.
