Mary, is the car your only option if a tsunami strikes? Assuming enough notice these days, wouldn't there be some other way (a ride with a neighbor, call a cab) to get out of there? The car will just lose value and require routine maintenance in the meantime.

The heat of summer seems to be irritating folks all over the northern hemisphere. Lots of bickering in various threads, and a new one just started with an offhand remark out of context in order to apparently start another argument thread. Everyone needs to step away from the keyboard, unless it is a musical one. I'm about due for a weekend news blackout, everything going on in the world right now is enough to make one cranky.

This is my last four day compressed schedule week. I saved some gas by not driving to work five days a week, and I think the best I can say is that if I frittered away a day of my weekend I still had two in which to get some stuff done. :)
