My local Lidl supermarket is shut for alterations, so I went to Aldi instead and whilst there I bought a couple of very large round bags - intended, from the illustrations, for use in the garden but I can take them up into the roof space and set them up for sorting through the yarn I have up there - I will never knit all of it in my lifetime but I want to find the good stuff and use that first.

I thought that filling up the two bags with cones of acrylic yarn, one bag for the 4 ply and one for finer stuff, will assist in the management of the hoard.

Once it is corralled I can perhaps consider further sorting - into brands maybe and then selling off might be a possibility. People want to know exactly what they are buying or they aren't prepared to pay for it.
