The early singles are sublime.

To a lot of guys my age who played in 'punk' bands in the late 70's
"I Can't Explain" & "The Kids Are Alright" are a core constituent of our DNA.

After "Magic Bus" they went a bit cack.

But despite all that pretentiousness
they still managed to create the occasional brilliant track like "Baba O'Riley"
every now and then...
