I was struck by the high level of artistry present. Despite my landlubberly interest in shanties and other trad vocal styles, I don't hang out with folks that sing the real stuff (as in, slow, loud and acapulco with much chorusing) much, it's a treat to get in a room with a bunch of devotees as yourselves...

As with all Mudcat encounters to date, I'm real glad I went. Now I'm back home in Ontario, shovelling snow and stoking the stove...
