I have been using The Full English to look at songs collected in this corner of West Sussex, mostly from the Clive Carey collection.

One of these (CC/1/69) is entitled The West Indies, although the cataloguers have given it a more helpful title [The Hurricane] in square brackets.

The song is the only one recorded under the Roud number (21265) and a google search for various phrases in the text yielded nothing.

This song appears to have been collected for Carey in 1912 by Dorothy Marshall of Chithurst House who had facilitated his work in the area.

Under the text she has written a brief note:
18th Cent tune, rather good.

Obviously I would appreciate it if anyone knows the song and has a tune that might be this one. Also I should be grateful for any help where her scrawl has defeated me.

The West Indies

To the West Indies as I was sailing and likewise to Jamaica too
