Sounds beautiful - though I would be very careful with mulches containing anything other than chipped wood. Planting anything into that mulch may result in dead plantings because of hydrocarbon breakdown leeching into the soil. Setting colorful pots on the ground under the tree and on top of that mulch is a good idea.

Kitchen cleaned up before I left the house this morning so I have a clear surface to inspire me to get a lot done when I get home later. Time for the next push of eBay listings and having a couple of clear surfaces to work on or stage photos for auctions. I heard the head of eBay interviewed on NPR yesterday. He said it is down to only about 30% of sales going as auctions, that the other 70% are listed as buy it now. I've trended more that way myself with some things, but when I'm not sure the market value of something, auctions are a good starting point.
