I say it every year: this was the best Getaway ever.

When the Brigadoon glittering islands fades into the fog at the end of the weekend, you drive away with a head full of singing images, and colorful song sounds, and the echoes of laughter and greetings that could start all over again at the drop of the hat.

Rooms full of people, singing songs in stunning improvised harmonies; dancing around a fire in a dark forest doing gospel songs; Dani leading the house into gales of laughter with her "Ballad of Siri and the Boyos"; Mai's enchanting Gaelic singing and the wild Cajun fiddling of Damina Boucher doing "Jolie Blonde"; Lonesome EJ doing his train song; and a thousand other plaintive, poignant, rousing and tempered voices threading together in a head-full of amazing moments.
