Just under two hours till the millenium odometer here in Alberta rolls over . Thought I'd drop in to the Mudcat Cafe and have a look around. See what's up. Hear the little bell tinkle when I open the door. Coming in from near below zero to the room warmed by all the folks crowded around the tables causes my glasses to fog up. Faces are blurred, but I hear music, laughter. Cussing. Arguments, respectful by and large. Advice, undertanding. Sharing of recipes. "What are the words to..." "Here's the chords for..." " That happened to me once - here's what I did..." "Let me know how it works out..." " I'll PM you.." I listen for a while. I step back out into the crisp prairie night. It's a good place.
