Happy New Year to everybody! The last day of 2000 dawned with sub-zero temperatures and snow on the ground here at the nether end of the Vale of York. The first day of 2001 is a real "misty, moisty morning" and mild with nary a trace of snow at all. In between it was a death-trap for those of us walking even the short distance to and from our neighbours' house for the celebrations last night. Water on ice - eek!

I hope this year proves to be a winner for everybody.
