Every charity I approached declined to accept any of the thouands of £££s worth of shop bought pre recorded VHSs.

punkfolkrocker,

I've volunteered in a couple of charity shops over the past year or so, and both refuse to accept VHS tapes for the simple reason that no one wants to buy them. Storage space is limited, and then eventually it costs the shops money to dispose of them.

You say that they're worth thousands of pounds. They may have cost you that, but they're only WORTH what someone wants to pay for them, which as you've found is virtually nothing.

There does however still seem to remain (an albeit small) market for pre-recorded audio cassettes. Obviously charity shops can't accept home recorded stuff.
