Years ago I couldn't find my carton of milk. It was an almost full 2-quart one and I knew I had used it at least once. But I knew there was no way I would have put it in the garbage.

I kept opening the refrigerator and staring in- I couldn't think of any other place it could be. But it wasn't there. So I had eggs for breakfast.

Later that day I found the carton in the refrigerator. It was wedged into the shelf in the door. It was a tight fit; I can't imagine why I didn't notice what I was doing.

Now that I'm old everyone would blame it on my age.
