The mystery of the hidden hoodie has been solved! I am sure you are all as relieved as I. I had given up hope, quite literally, after searching, off and on, for three days. Imagine, if you can, one losing a hoodie in their own home. Then, a series of events took place which led to sheer joy upon the discovery of the location of said hoodie and the accompanying realization that I hadn't 'lost it' altogether... yet.

Three morns ago, I had to reach under the blankets and sheet to grab hold of the fitted sheet and wrestle it back into place at the foot of the bed. Two morns ago, I had to do the same on the opposite side of the foot of the bed. I found these incidents puzzling, as one would when such rarely happens. Yesterday morn, both sides were ajar. I tried to do the same for both sides but it proved an unruly task so I stripped the bedding and found the corner pulling hoodie between the two blankets along the edge of the foot of the bed.

How did it get there? Monday night football. I fell asleep at halftime. Upon a loud cheer when The Steelers scored, I awoke and groggily turned off the TV and the heat pump and stumbled in darkness to my roost. As is my custom, I had earlier turned down the bedding, during which I usually place the top blanket in a position from which it can be easily retrieved if and when the temperature in the bedroom necessitates such. It all came together. I had doffed my hoodie and, in my grogginess, misplaced it near the foot of the bed instead on the bed chest. It's a nice bed chest, fashioned by an artisan in my basement. Red oak with maple scroll accents, all finished with a golden oak stain but I digress. As the temperature did fall during the night, after I was awakened by the urge to purge caused by Monday night football quaffs and satisfied the urge, I pulled up the top blanket and gently returned to my slumber, thereby unwittingly entombing my hoodie where it would remain for four days before rescue.

Doesn't this tale give you a feeling of... I can't get that time back?
