Chris Barber is now about the last of the UK trad players I've followed since the '50s still playing. Acker was much better in clubs than doing the popular stuff on radio & tv but I actually preferred the perid when Bruce Turner was in his band and played most of the clarinet work,leaving Acker to tell jokes, sing and, of course, play what he called "Strangler on the Floor".
