Back to the poem. It occurred to me that the baffling 'worn' in this line:
Cum on, Mary, þat we worn at 3on cyté
was probably some form of 'we were in'. 'Worn' is a corruption. ======= In case nobody said this before, 'ur-' is a modern German prefix signifying primitive or original.
