Subject: RE: Bose L1 v LD Maui
The original Bose PA horns (two round holes in a rectangular "landscape"box) were sold on clarity and how small they were yet could drive a large venue. The top and bottom did suffer somewhat, but only by today's standards. They were a revelation back then.

These L1 units have a sub woofer and high end horns with a crossover that makes "decisions" at the frequencies they split. They have excellent top and bottom.

What I would say, and this is also true of LD Maui, is that the mid and treble is powerful enough for much larger venues than the sub woofers so whilst it is tempting to use yours rather than the theatre PA, check the size of the theatre! That said, if you are emulating acoustic work, voice and guitar, that limitation is far less than if you are putting a band through it.
