I'm bad at it also. Just got a smart phone about 3 months ago, and only because I figured I better get one before flip phones disappeared, probably at about the same time I am likely to have lost enough brain cells to not be able to adapt.

As Dan notes, it does make for lots of chuckles.

Have no need or desire to get good at it. In fact, it annoys me to text for the most part. In spite of all that, I am getting better (not good, just better) with forced practice. Son and Sis keep texting as a way of insisting I practice. Or so they say. I think it is for the entertainment factor provided by my frequent gaffs.

I am ham-handed and find the teensy keyboard on the iPhone renders me an even worse typist than I am on a computer keyboard. So... immediately went for dictating into the mike and watching my spoken word magically turn into printed word.

First time I used it was to respond to a text from Sum Yung Sun about an accomplishment. What I spoke was "Well done, Son."

The message sent was, "Well hung, Son."
