HIGH WATER FLOOD BLUES
As recorded by Carl Martin, 1936-04-18.

Well, it rained, it rained, and the rivers began to rise.
Banks begin to overflow; thousands lost their lives.

CHORUS: The water kept on flowin', flowin' on and on.
There's thousands of people have done lost their happy home.

Well, the whistles began blowin' and the bells began to ring.
People runnin' and screaming, but they couldn't do a thing. CHORUS

Well, that Johnstown flood left the people in an awful fix.
Nothin' like that first started in Pittsburgh in 1936. CHORUS

Well, high water's here; high water's ev'rywhere
High water's here; high water's ev'rywhere
I believe if you go to China, you'd find high water there.
