Subject: Christmas in the Trenches Centenary
I've friends, a couple, who are going to New York city for a weekend of great musical events. Besides the Paul Winter 35th Annual Winter Solstice Celebration that I try to catch on broadcast every year, they're also going to hear:

*CHRISTMAS IN THE TRENCHES CENTENARY CONCERT - NYC*
Cooper Union 7 East 7th Street New York, New York
Very special concert honoring the 100th anniversary of the 1914 Christmas Eve Truce, the inspiration for the song "Christmas in the Trenches." This will be the *only* northeast event for this centenary involving John McCutcheon.

I'll be home singing and playing and like them to well to be envious, but I'm vastly wistful and wish I could go.The latter concert also makes me wonder about how many songs were written about the Christmas in the Trenches event - I can think of another one that Artisan sang.
