That old folk classic, "Ziggy Stardust" was my first LP purchase; "Jeepster" by T.Rex was the first 45 I believe.
Looks like "folkpunkrocker" and I must be about the same age; that daft Chicory Tip 45 and a not-at-all-daft one from Lindisfarne (Meet Me On The Corner) were also early purchases for me. I loved Lady Eleanor, too. Wouldn't give me the time of day though...
