"Research" is a word that gets used very loosely these days. It can mean genuinely exploring a topic in depth, which takes a lot of time and effort. Or it can mean googling Wikipedia and a few other pages on the Internet, some of which are a lot more reliable than others, and maybe reading the odd book.

Noone can be genuine experts on more than a relatively few things. When we express opinions about the others we should always recognise that.
