It certainly is a Norfolk song, and my grandmother used to sing it to me (and I'm now 67).

We used to make up alternative endings in which Master Frisky shot the sportsman and made a pie out of him instead, but he was so tough that nobody could eat it.

I suppose the song must originate from the music halls.

We always used to sing it in tandem with, 'Your baby 'as gorn down the plug 'ole; your baby 'as gorn down the drain ...' etc. That was my father's contribution to cheering us all up :-)
