We will not be sharing my cancer story with Jeremiah until he is MUCH older. He is only 5 and we think the most important things for him to know at this stage is that he has another set of parents who loved him but couldn't care for him and that we chose him because he is special and we loved him from the minute we saw him. :)

When he is older, we will share more. We want him to have a firm grasp on what it means to be adopted before he goes to kindergarten and children start asking him why he is a different color than we are. So far, he hasn't ever questioned this with us. I don't want a stranger or another child to blindside him or cause confusion for him.
