We've stepped back through the spring door into a late-winter look here. The rainy weather on Sunday was enough to keep me in my chair working on a lap quilt/comforter for my son. The one for my daughter comes next. It's a simple thing, a cover fabric (a woven flannel) with non-woven batting and then a cotton backing trimmed with bias tape. It's interesting how when you start working it looks like it's independent parts, but then you reach a point where it feels like a garment or an object, not a disparate collection of pieces. Now I need to knot the cover so the batting stays put.
