Stottin doon the waal
Today is Friday pay day and the face will soon be off (Coal face)
And I'm glad the week is ended there's no doubt
For we'll ride and draw or pay and then we'll be away
Get our dinner put our clothes on and go out
And its bouncing down the wall
bouncing down the wall
The Friday night is never quite complete
If I don't get me sup(drink)
And I'm feeling my way along home
By bouncing down the ropeworks wall
Now a go down to the corner
And there I meets the lads
And we're go into the penny wet fur a sup (Bar room for a drink)
And we'll gets out the bones (dice)
And the tanners start tae fly (Money starts to fly)
For when your drinking you never know your luck
And its bouncing down the wall
bouncing down the wall
The Friday night is never quite complete
If I don't get me sup(drink)
And I'm feeling my way along home
By bouncing down the ropeworks wall
But later on again when we're feeling ourselves lowsed (Loosed released or finished work)
We take ourselves down tae the Mem (Must be the name of a dancehall)
As we prance around the floor
There's many a chance to score
And round the night off taking a girl home
And its bouncing down the wall
bouncing down the wall
The Friday night is never quite complete
If I don't get me sup(drink)
And I'm feeling my way along home
By bouncing down the ropeworks wall
Last Friday I did well with little nancy brown
You know her father works in Fowerth West (Name of a pit or seam)
And as I was standing in the door
and a thought to do a bit more
he opened it up and you'll guess where I went next
Aye He sent me
And its bouncing down the wall
bouncing down the wall
The Friday night is never quite complete
If I don't get me sup(drink)
And I'm feeling my way along home
By bouncing down the ropeworks wall
Hope this helps Dave
