Sleeve notes to The Hale and the Hanged by the Exiles (Enoch Kent, Gordon McCulloch and Bobby Campbell) say that the available tune wasn't attractive to Gordon, so it was set to a tune made by Bobby -- which had also been used for the song The Fairfield Apprentice.
