I've got the Vox Mini 3 G2 that pfr links to and it's got surprisingly good modeling effects and sounds okay amplifying an acoustic guitar with a magnetic pickup with a good amount of volume outdoors. I use it mostly for sitting on the couch and playing electric guitar. Comparing various amps in a music store might be the way to go, if possible. But then, Roland products I've encountered have all been excellent.
