HiLo & Musket.... 35 years ago, the problem with American beer was sad and well known. Then one guy in California started New Albion Brewery.... and today there are GOOD beers available almost everywhere. I can go to 20-30 places within 20 minutes drive and get fine beer & ale...bottled or on tap.

I get SO tired of repetition of the notion that we still have ONLY poor beer..we have plenty of poor beer, but anyone who makes the effort can have beer to compete with any country... with the possible exception of special Belgian monastery creations. (and some breweries are getting close to that!)
