I recall a frustrating conversation I once had at work. I was looking for a set of recent statistics from an economist co-worker.

She said, "You have a choice. If you can wait until tomorrow, I can print out a very accurate set of computer-generatd statistics. Or, if you need a less detailed set, I can generate one in a couple of hours".

I was in a rush and I indicated the latter would be fine.

Her response puzzled me. She said, "I am sorry, I don't have the time to do that today".

My response was something like, "why did you offer me a choice, when one of them was not available?" I don't recall getting a satisfactory answer to my question, and ordered the computer generated set and walked away somewhat confused, thinking wtf?
