It is Lupercalia...ancient Greek, or is it Roman?

hmm, no idea of songs...though it is mentioned in one of my coven's rituals for the season I think...

it is in part a fertility festival; women would run through the streets and men would lightly slap strips of wolf hide on their haunches to make them uh, fruitful...I think it has to do with wolves and lunar cycles, too..not sure...I bet if you did a search on the net you'd find more...

shoulda heard the reactions when I wrote about it for a witchy column I used to do for a feminist newspaper...("Oh, no, we can't have this...")
