Wherever the cause of the Viet Nam war, to stop Soviet Agression, to contain the advance of China into the sub continent, to curtail the flow of drugs, to insure a friendly presence in the east, or to support the US industrial/military giant, it must be remembered that the war fought, not by the generals but by grunts in the field. Most of whom (Americain foot soldiers) went because of a sense of duty and not to promote any geo-political end. When it comes to a question of duty I have to admire unwavering faith in the percieved rightness of the cause. I feel just as strongly in the belief of the righteousness of Phil Ochs as I do in the righteous belief of my friend Capt. Larry Dewey USAF 1945-1968.Don
