Because it was mentioned to me for a cure for arthritis I was mildly interested. I may get that ailment one day.

So I went looking. Mason's Dog Oil seems to be recommending itself for a range of ailments. And it refers to Ambrose Bierce as if his name would add credence. I am a huge fan of the Devils Dictionary and his treatise on Oil of Dog confirms the reference to rather put Dog Oil in the category of Fuitloopery (As New Scientist likes to put it) aka Snake Oil.
