Dave Swarbrick will obviously need little or no introduction to regulars of this forum, however, a little background info ... Dave headlined our very first Goose concert, way back in March 2008, and he's been back a few times since both solo and with Martin Carthy.

Dave joined the IAN CAMPBELL FOLK GROUP for several years in the early 60's and in 1966 he teamed up with MARTIN CARTHY. This remarkable pairing played an important part in the tremendous shake up given to British folk music in the middle to late 60's. When they parted in 1969 ( they would renew their partnership in years to come, of course) Dave joined FAIRPORT CONVENTION and his contribution to folk and folk/rock music is legendary and well documented.


Tonight at Swarb's request we also have local songwriter and guitarist Jake Wilson. The two met when Jake supported him at the Goose before. They quickly struck up a friendship and Swarb went on to produce Jakes' album " All's Well", a series of songs based on Scotts expedition to the Antarctic.

Dave is arguably the finest fiddler there is and is highly regarded the world over.
