As the vegetarians are probably opposed to meat on the basis that they see meat eating as unnecessarily 'cruel' rather than simply aesthetically 'disgusting' their objection is I would imagine an ethical one.

I think asking you not to bring meat into their home, is more akin to your guests asking you not to hit your girlfriend in their home (ethical objection) rather than asking you not to kiss her (aesthetic).
