The arms and back are stiff this morning from the weeding yesterday, but the garden is coming back into view. I'll work on it every day until I tame this monster. The fireworks last night weren't in view, were only audible, so the dogs stayed in. At bedtime we walked into the yard for them to take a last break and there were robust explosions. All illegal in the county, but when the fire danger is low officials seem to look the other way.

It's time to cook a batch of beans and freeze in individual portions. I have tomatoes to use that aren't in good enough shape to can so they'll be trimmed and go into the pot, and I'll use onions and peppers from the freezer, making room for this year's crops.
