I lead a church caroling group that hits 8 to 11 nursing homes at Christmas and Fourth of July. I especially enjoy singing at the memory care centers. This year, we were scheduled during dinner; and I usually don't link to sing during meals because people are more interested in eating. But not at the memory care center. When we started with the National Anthem, everybody stopped eating - and several people stood up, put their hands on their hearts, and sang along. And they sang with us through our whole program, almost half an hour. Sometimes, the response from these people makes me feel like sobbing. It's just so moving.
