Out of interest, and maybe to highlight the point, here are some 1950s household hints. They seem no different to what people now refer to as life hacks. I think it has to do with 'click bait' on social media. Not many people would be tempted by household hints but life hacks could be quite dramatic. I suppose I am answering my own question here, or maybe just thinking aloud. Any views?
