Thread Name: ADD: Our Sal's New Bonnet (Yorkshire monologue)
Subject: RE: req: Our Sal's New Bonnet (Yorkshire monologue)
I know this Yorkshire bonnet dialect poem as belonging to MARY rather than to SAL !!!! It can be found on a most wonderful collection of Yorkshire dialect verse on a C.D. or tape and can be purchased (on line or by phone or letter ) from the Yorkshire Dialect Society for a few pounds only. The whole C.D. was recorded live on stage ( by wonderful readers ) some years ago at the Ilkley Literary Festival. All the details of this and many other publications of the same type can be found on Google....YORKSHIRE DIALECT SOCIETY. The title of this particular collection is ' FIRST O'SORT ' .

I realise it is easy to make false claims in respect of tapes, C.D s etc but I cannot speak too highly of the range and quality of these voices and the quality of the wonderful Yorkshire verses too. I would urge you to buy one and enjoy many happy hours listening , smiling and perhaps weeping at some of the contributions too . It really is a wonderful C D and you will treasure your copy as do I . I would love to know if you enjoyed it if you buy a copy.

Best wishes.
