Subject: RE: National Theatre/Channel 4 Mysteries
I saw _The National Theatre's Cottesloe Company in The Mysteries at the Lyceum Theatre in the spring of--I guess it must have been--1985. I was completely knocked out--it was one of the very few theatre experiences that have left such a mark on me.

"Can anyone tell me the name of the actor who played Joseph in the Nativity? Mary was played by a very pretty Brenda Blethyn, and her beautiful smile lit up the stage."

I ran across the programme just a couple of days ago. FWIW, it lists James Grant as Joseph in The Nativity, and Lynn Farleigh as Mary. (And Brian Glover as God.) The picture of Grant in the programme shows kind of a moody-looking guy with maybe-ear-length hair, so maybe we're talking about different casts.

(I remember thinking, during The Flight Into Egypt and The Home Service's playing "Lay Me Down," that I had heard that song before. Of course--it was on my still-favourite album, The Albion Band's Rise Up Like The Sun!)
