Esme Doer of things left her husband Mr. Doer of things, and went to live down the Road with Homer Buford. Homer was a good lover, and all Mr. Doer of things ever thought about was Sleepy John Estes.Esme and Homer had three children. Being a musical bunch, they formed a family band. Esme on accordion, Homer on Stroh violin, Lila and Daphne, the two oldest daughters doing vocals, and little Claudie, on cymbals and other percussion.
They traveled around the canals of Europe and England in the barge they had made into a home, joyfully spreading the beautiful sound of their music wherever they went.
Mr. Doer of things is still waiting for his evening with Sleepy John Estes. I hope, if he ever gets it, it will have been worth the trouble.
