This weekend begins some cooking as garden produce becomes available. First on the menu, chicken and eggplant Parmesan, frozen in plastic wrap personal-sized pyrex containers. They'll be stacked up in the freezer for lunches. When it comes to taking them to work, they go back into the pyrex and into my padded insulated lunch bag and thaw by time to heat them for lunch. These area gift to my future self. I'll also start making fresh pickles since the cucumbers are producing now. I'm still waiting on the okra, which I want to pickle this year if I get enough and catch them while they're small.

It took almost an hour this morning to wash the piled up dishes and then clean out the sink and surrounding counters. I don't usually let them pile up, but it was an odd week and several days home sick (with an appetite but little energy). I think I'm past that now, and the kitchen once again looks usable (good thing, with all of this cooking planned!)

I looked up my house on an Internet realty site this week, and see that property prices in the area are rising. It reminds me again of my goal to keep working on projects here at the house so that if I decide to sell to move for another job, it'll be close to ready. It isn't there yet. I need to make a list of projects and prioritize them (based upon cost, time involved, and my ability to do them myself vs having to hire someone to come do the work). I still have a lot of affordable do it myself projects for that list.
