What weekend are you coming to Memphis?? The Bluestock Festival will be October 23 and 24, with over 100 acts from all over the world up and down Beale. There will also be movie presentations, art exhibits, a trade show, and industry speaker panels. Check it out at www.bluestock.org Any other weekend, my favorite places are on Beale. Go to the Blues City Cafe, they advertise the "Best meal on Beale" and can back up that claim. This is the place to go for late night music, the second band starts about midnight and goes until about 5. The Center for Southern Folklore is a great place for more traditional blues forms, the atmosphere is good as are Judy Peiser and her staff. The Black Diamond always has a good band. If you arer there on the last Thursday of the month don't miss the Keith Sykes songwriter's thing. Another of my favorites is Gary Hardy at Alfred's. Gary does a show featuring songs by Memphis writers, very well done. I f you have any other questions you can reach me at a3kids@gmi.net
