The club I started out at was The Tree Inn, in Stratton near Bude. It moved to the Globe Hotel in Bude, before its demise some time in the late 1990s. There is still music at The Tree but it's a session which has diversified somewhat. Sadly, I don't go any more because my hearing isn't good enough to play with lots of plucky stringy thingies combined with the bustling background pub noise. Bodmin is a bit too remote for me, considering I always like a pint and don't like driving home. We went a few times but not recently. I think I can just about put faces to the Ridleys! The Bodmin lot were always strong on singing as I recall. On one occasion we had a get together with them at a neutral venue, :-) the Wellington in Boscastle. There was a bloke there who sang and played the washboard. I still have the washboard he kindly made for my young son, who got quite good on it! The fellow didn't know what a tin whistle was. He called it "pipes"!
