When on holiday in Gordon territory the guide at one of the historic monuments said they were the Gie Gordons. The nearest meaning I could give is workey ticket ie. trying it on and full of lighthearted mischief rather than evil. She said it was an adjective still in use in the 50's dialect ,but now only the older generation still used it.
