"soramimi" is actually not Italian, but Japanese. Not quite the same thing, in fact, as what we are considering in re Shady Grove: Wikipedia entry under heading 'soramimi' clarifies how it differs from a mondegreen, which indeed is what this thread is concerned with in consideration of "Shady Grove".
