Rain washed out most holiday activities here, and on Friday night the village carnival was cancelled as well. There is a local email list and the garden club ladies were a-twitter because they were scheduled to bake for a cake walk at said-carnival.

The rain forecast for today is 60%, but it isn't raining right now so I'll transplant some volunteers in the garden that should go to good homes (a native hibiscus) and transplant some herbs from the side garden down to the curb garden. And my neighbors got home last night after a couple of weeks travel so I have a backlog of okra. I eat some, they eat lots, and my plants are producing, so I'll unload some today. Decluttering the fridge, filling up the greenhouse.

A loaf of bread is rising, laundry is finishing up. This afternoon I need to harvest and prepare a variety of stuff for freezing.
