Sorry Ladies. I'm such an old fart that when I learned English, back in the Middle Ages, we were taught that the word 'man' could be synonymous with 'mankind' and therefore it 'included' women. Women were something special and had a word that was exclusively for them.

I'm sorry that some have deemed it necessary to change the language since I learned it. But until us old farts all die out you'll have to live with the fact that some of us still remember how to speak English.
