Oh, boldly posted, boldly sung,
The names and voices of the young,
The gallant, fierce, and bright-eyed kine
Who placed their bodies and their minds
Upon the gamble named by wearied men
Too far along to know that sense again
That out of any dog's breakfast, if they only would
With will and fire, they could bring forth good.
The jaded, tired, wealthy hands of power
Placing the bets and lives of such brave flowers
